EVMC Events Calendar

EVMC hold regular day and evening meets throughout the summer. You can filter events by day meets or by evening meets.

Evening meets are held on Wednesdays. Climbing meets will be normally held on the first Sunday in the month. Scrambling meets will normally be held on the third Saturday in the month. The venue will be decided by the meet leader according to the weather forecast. The meet leader will email venue and meeting place during the week before the meet.  Please also check the Meets page for a summary view and more details on co-ordinators.

Evening meet – Armathwaite

Park east side of bridge - follow path under bridge and upstream to crag

Trad climbing - the crag gets the evening sun- followed by a pint in the Fox and Pheasant

Evening meet – Gowbarrow Boulders

Park east side of bridge - follow path under bridge and upstream to crag

Bouldering on the fellside above Aira Force

Evening meet – Church Crag

Grid Reference: NY 305 227 Altitude: 240m Faces: East Approach: 5 mins A tiny quick-drying crag of excellent rock with good incut holds and natural protection which is ideal for beginners. The crag is situated in a lovely location with stunning views. There are some belay bolts in place on top of the crag. Park at St. John’s in the Vale Church and cross a stile into the field to the north. The crag is visible about 200 metres away. The crag is divided into two small buttresses by a left-slanting gully.

Trad climbing - mainly easier grades

Evening meet – Bramcrag Quarry

Bolt clipping in the evening sun in an esoteric location in St John's in the Vale. Pint afterwards in the White Horse.
