Membership Application / Renewal 2026 (Jan – Dec)

Thank you for your interest our club. The Eden Valley Mountaineering Club is a very informal club covering a wide range of outdoor activities.

There is a programme of meets during the year –

• Weekly Wednesday evening meets at the Eden Climbing Wall in Penrith during the winter .
• Weekly Wednesday evening rock climbing meets in the summer.
• Rock climbing, scrambling and walking Day meets throughout the year.
• A number of Weekend meets to Scotland, the Peak and Wales.
• Over the years there have also been several “hot-rocking” trips to Euro-rock during the winter months as well as ski-touring trips.

The Club’s website is www.evmc.co.uk. There is an Email group and a Facebook group to keep members in touch.

The club is affiliated to the British Mountaineering Council.

There is an Annual General Meeting and an Annual Dinner with a Fell Race around Gowbarrow.

Club membership currently stands at 112. The interests and commitments of club members vary widely. Rock climbing, fell walking, fell running, winter mountaineering, bolt-clipping, skiing, ski-touring, alpinism (and beyond) are all represented at a wide range of standards.

Fees for July – December 2026 are now £18.00 for individual membership.

Membership is open to anyone aged 18 and over.
Instructions for payment will be sent to you upon submission of the membership form.
