The Wainwright Challenge

The EVMC Wainwright Challenge was an idea proposed by Robin Illingworth for club members to ascend the Wainwrights without using a car from the Penrith area. The challenge ran throughout 2023 . On completion of the challenge, Ron Kenyon wrote and published the following book.

This book is based on the ascents in 2023 by members of the Eden Valley Mountaineering Club.   Copies also available at local retail outlets and on the internet This publication gives comprehensive details to assist in ascending the 214 Wainwright summits in the Lake District without using the car. The core of the book is about the ascents of the Wainwrights, during 2023

One third of the net income from the book is going to be given to the Fix the Fells organisation, which helps to maintain the footpaths of the area.  The bulk of the rest of the net income will go to other local organisations
